Reliance

Holy Father,

You are all-together righteous and holy. You dwell in unapproachable light. No man has seen you or can see you. You are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and you are glorious and beautiful. We would be terrified in your presence were it not for your grace. In your goodness, you have sacrificed your only Son so that we might receive the glorious liberty of the sons of God. Be exalted as our all in all today, Father.

We approach you to hear from you. Speak to us words of life and rest and comfort and joy. Reveal Christ to us and make us holy. We are utterly reliant on you. Receive us for Christ's sake and through his perfect righteousness. Empower us through your Holy Spirit. We set aside our own righteousness as the filthy rags they are. Teach us to trust in you and you alone.

So we ask you to do what only you can do: promise and persuade and comfort and deliver and conform us to Christ's image. Be glorified through us as we worship in spirit and in truth. And let the amen resound to your praise and for your glory.
